About us

Two sisters who kept being asked for the plan

DIYtinerary began with the same message arriving over and over: “Can you send me what you did?” The answer used to be a voice note. Now it is a document — with timings, stays, food and map links you can open while you are standing on the street.

How it started

It began with one reel. Amrit posted a stay she had found in Goa: a one-bedroom place with a community pool for ₹1,500 a night. The reel travelled, and our inbox filled with the same questions over and over: where is it, how do we get there, what else is nearby, what should we eat. We spent a week answering every message by hand.

Then we wrote it all down once, properly: a four-day Goa plan with the stays, the restaurants and each day laid out with map links. We put a price on it, and it sold almost at once. That was the first DIYtinerary.

What we believe

Trips don't become expensive because destinations are costly. They become expensive because of poor planning decisions: the wrong base, days in the wrong order, two hours lost crossing a city twice. A good itinerary fixes those before you leave home.

So ours are built around the order of the days, where you sleep, how far things really are from each other, and a pace a real person can keep. We would rather give you a clear plan than a long list.

What we actually make

Ready-made itineraries are the trips we took, written up properly: day by day, with the stays we used, the food we would go back for, and the bits we would skip next time. You buy one, you get the PDF, you go.

Custom itineraries are built around your dates, your route and your pace. You tell us where you are starting, where you want to end and what you like doing; we come back with a full document — from ₹999. Two change requests are included, because the first draft is a conversation, not a verdict.

How we work

Every place we name is a real, currently operating place, and every map link is checked to land in the right country before the document goes out. Where a town is thin on listings we research it rather than pad the day with “explore the old town”.

Stays come from Booking.com and Airbnb only, and we hold them to a line: 8+ on Booking, 4.5+ on Airbnb, close to the station or the centre. We still ask you to read the last two or three months of reviews yourself before you book — that is where a place tells you what it has become.

We do not take money from hotels to be listed. Some booking links in our itineraries are partner links: if you book through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you, and it never decides what we recommend. And we do not pretend to have been somewhere we have not. Where an itinerary covers a country we have not personally travelled, the document says so on its face.

Who we are

Simi and Amrit Singh

We are Simi and Amrit Singh, sisters from New Delhi, and the people behind Life with the Singh Sisters on Instagram and YouTube (154K+ followers), where we share the trips, the stays and the mistakes. Between us we have travelled 24 countries.

DIYtinerary is run by a small team now, not only the two of us: more than 10,000 travellers have planned a trip with one of our itineraries, and the shelf holds 318 ready-made trips across 77 countries.

If something in your itinerary is wrong or unclear, tell us through the Request a Change link in your order or write to hello@diytinerary.com, and the team will pick it up.
